Questions from the mob
Everything about launching, fees, burns and copycats. Still unsure? Ask the mob.
What is Mob?
A community-first Solana launchpad built on Meteora. Anyone can launch a coin for about 0.02 SOL, every launch is protected from copycats, and Mob’s fees buy and burn $MOB.
What does it cost to launch?
About 0.02 SOL, which goes to Solana’s account rent and network fees, not to Mob. There’s no required dev buy; a first buy of up to 3 SOL is optional, in the same signature, at the normal fee.
Where do the fees go?
Every trade pays Mob’s 1.25% protocol fee. Meteora keeps a fifth of the trading fee, and of the rest of Mob’s fee, 90% (about 0.9% of each trade) buys $MOB on the market and burns it, about every hour, on a public ledger. The other 10% (about 0.1% of each trade) goes to the protocol to build Mob.
Can I reward my holders?
Yes. When you launch, you can add holder rewards of 0% to 1% on top of every trade. It’s locked at launch and all of it goes to your coin’s holders; your own wallet doesn’t earn it.
How do holder rewards work?
They’re paid about every hour once $5 is waiting, in the coin’s pair token, pro rata to holders worth $20 or more (the largest 200). Pools and the creator’s and Mob’s wallets don’t count. There’s no transfer tax.
What can I pair my coin with?
SOL, USDC, USDT, crypto majors like BTC, ETH, HYPE and XRP, $MOB once it’s live, or a tokenized stock: xStocks by Backed and Backpack Securities (like Tesla, NVIDIA and SpaceX). Stock tokens can be paused by their issuer and aren’t available to US persons. Fees and rewards arrive in the pair; the burn share is swapped to $MOB and burned.
How are copycats and snipers stopped?
No copycats: while a coin is live, its ticker, name and picture can’t be launched again, lookalikes included. Anti-snipe is coming soon: an opening fee that starts high and falls to 1.25%, so early bots pay the mob.
